In late 1976 he joined LAN CHILE as a Planning Analyst and later was promoted to Director of Planning, VP of Planning and finally in 1981 to the position of President and CEO of the airline.
In LAN Patricio produced the strongest change experienced by the company to address the severe economic crisis that crossed the company. Lead the process of closing the company created in 1929 and founded from January 1, 1984 what today is LAN Airlines. This radical transformation gave the expected results and the new company began producing profits from first day, laying a solid foundation for what is now LAN Airlines, an example of efficiency and service as airline worldwide.
Later in 1989, Patricio leads the privatization of the company since LAN needed external capitalization to grow in a market that had multiple opportunities. Upon completion of this process was invited by the owners of airline LADECO working as an advisor of the Board in Strategic Planning and Reorganization (1990-1992).
He was also President of the International Air Transport Association in Latin America, AITAL, now known as ALTA for a period of five years (1985-1989), producing the first structural transformation of this Association implementing an ambitious program of operational savings to its members equivalent to 1% of their costs over three years.
Patricio became involved with IATA first as Member of the Board of Governors (1986-1989). Which in turn was Chairman (1987-1988) and Chaiman of the Executive Committee (1987-1988) and Chairman of the Chair Committee. In 1990 he founded his own company in Chile specialized in Consulting Aviation and Tourism, PSC Corp. Since 1992, represent IATA in Latin America as Regional Director for Latin America and Caribbean. In September 2003, he left his private consulting firm to join the team full time IATA, being appointed Regional Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean stationed in Miami, USA.

In 1998 founded Wings of Change the summit of the Aviation Conferences in the Americas
In 2002 was the founder of AeroLatinNews the main aviation journal in Latin America,

CHILE-US CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2018-2020
I will commit my time to participate in the Chile-US Chamber of commerce monthly meetings.
Also, I will be very happy to participate in committees that will promote trade between Chile & the U.S.
I will help to motivate younger Chileans to participate and become members of the Chamber of Commerce. Sports events would be a great tool for recruiting new members.
In addition, as a longtime member of the Chile-US Chamber of Commerce I consistently support and already participate in most of the activities.
Lastly, in my experience the Chamber of Commerce is a great platform for Chilean companies to connect with established U.S companies. A great objective will be to promote my experience and help recruit more companies and individuals that would be beneficiated by becoming members.

He started his banking career in Chicago with Northern Trust Company as financial analyst and was quickly assigned to structure the opening of its international bank in Miami. He was recruited by Irving Trust Company, New York, and transferred to its Miami operations where he rose to Deputy General Manager in charge of day-to-day operations. As Miami was becoming a hub for international banking, he was hired by Vereins-und-Westbank, Hamburg, Germany, to grow its trade portfolio in Latin America beyond coffee; as such, he was instrumental in developing trade portfolio in grains from Argentina, copper and fishmeal from Chile, tin from Bolivia.
Accepting the call for a new challenge, he joined a small Miami bank that had run into regulatory oversight due to increasing non-performing loans. The bank was eventually sold with minimum loss to shareholders.
He joined Republic National Bank of Miami where he rose as head of International Banking with a staff of over 60 including lenders and Operations personnel.
